Beautiful Creatures (Caster Chronicles #1) by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl
YA Fantasy
Rating: 5 Stars
Lena Duchannes is unlike anyone the small Southern town of Gatlin has ever seen, and she's struggling to conceal her power, and a curse that has haunted her family for generations. But even within the overgrown gardens, murky swamps and crumbling graveyards of the forgotten South, a secret cannot stay hidden forever.
Ethan Wate, who has been counting the months until he can escape from Gatlin, is haunted by dreams of a beautiful girl he has never met. When Lena moves into the town's oldest and most infamous plantation, Ethan is inexplicably drawn to her and determined to uncover the connection between them.
In a town with no surprises, one secret could change everything.
My thoughts: I am so used to reading books with main character being a female it’s quite a difference. It’s not that I had any problem with boy narrators I just ended up with girl ones. It didn’t take anything away from the book though. I love how simple to cover is and the rest of the series follows the first one. The story had a nice flow to it and kept my interest. I have wanted to read this series for a long time but I just never got to it. The movie definitely got me into reading it much faster. I will be doing a review of the movie vs. the book soon.
