I am a stickler for finishing books.
How can you judge a book without actually reading the thing entirely?
It doesn't make sense to me. I don't hate this book I just couldn't
read it.
There are many reasons to not read a
whole book. For me, a big one would be if it is poorly written. You
can't follow the book if you can't understand the book. An example of
that would be Fifty Shades of Grey. The reason I loathe that book is
because it got famous because of what it is about or the theory of
how it came about instead of the value of the writing which is
downright horrible. I just couldn't get through it because it irked
me that more talented writers were getting passed up because of scrap
paper like that.
This book however is nothing like that.
There could be many reasons why I couldn't finish it. The writing is
very formal and old style. The setting is very old and I'm more of a
futuristic reader/writer. I couldn't connect with the character
(which is odd because I am a twin and I am almost positive she is
pure evil). No matter what it was I just couldn't do it.
So, for now Prophecy of the Sisters is
getting shelved. I own the book so it will be there ready for me to
pick up whenever I get the chance. On to the next one!
